Private Equity for Isle of Man Media Ventures

At MIPCOM, the world’s largest entertainment content trade show, Isle of Media signed a cooperation agreement with Alex DeGroote of DeGroote Consulting, to improve access to private equity and funding solutions for Isle of Man Media ventures. Alex is a former investment banker and Media sector analyst, who is advisor to City firms Trillium Partners and Radnor Capital for the Media industry, as well as he provides advisory and investor services in his own right to a range of TMT Plcs.

Alexander DeGroote said: “I am delighted to sign this arrangement with Isle of Media Limited. There is a significant opportunity to develop and scale the Media industry on the Isle of Man, which I look forward to assisting. With my background in Media and private investment, and a range of relevant relationships, I hope to add a fresh capability to an already-strong management team.”

Isle of Media adds world class experience to Advisory Board – Ellen Windemuth appointed

Isle of Media, the national development agency for the Isle of Man’s thriving digital, content and media technology cluster is adding leading media professional, Ellen Windemuth to its Advisory Panel.

Ellen Windemuth, CEO of Off the Fence, founded the company in 1994 which is now part of the German ZDF Enterprises Group. Off the Fence has acquired, produced and co-produced over 6,000 hours of content, winning more than 100 prestigious awards along the way.

Ellen, a seasoned Executive Producer and Distributor has produced over 500 hours to date herself and is Chair of the Jackson Hole Film Festival Board, as well as being actively involved in conservation and land development. Her experience in factual entertainment programming is extensive in both production and distribution.

Ellen was recently presented with the prestigious Wildscreen’s Christopher Parson’s Outstanding Achievement Awards 2018.

She has three children and a great passion for the outdoors. Having visited the Island numerous times, Ellen’s most recent venture, WaterBear, has produced a new series including a feature of the Isle of Man Beach Buddies. The video has been shortlisted for the Good Natured: Conservation Optimism short film festival. It showcases the positive influence the Beach Buddies have on the wider community, and the fun they all have in the process, increasing community spirit, general wellbeing and depolluting the beautiful beaches with this UNESCO Biosphere.
